My work is a response to the daily state of affairs that we have been internalising, and the ways in which these experiences shape our perceptions of the world around us. I am interested in how gender shapes our experiences of urban space. Through my paintings, I explore spaces in a conscious practice of experiencing the city in a way that is both personal and political. I document and capture the narratives and emotions of the spaces I inhabit. I use colour as my primary medium to capture the essence of the moment which communicates a complex range of feelings through marks and gestures.
